EARLY DUDES WITH
"2-DUDES" LICENSE PLATE
|
The story of Two Dudes Painting Co. is not
your average business story. But then again, Two Dudes isn't your average painting
company. Two friends - Peter Barber and Brian McCaskey-entered the painting world in the
summer of '87. Like most 19 year old's during summer break from college they needed to
find a job. Their goals were simple and modest. They weren't out to start a business. They
were out in search of work and money. They decided to paint a house. Lacking
experience and knowledge of crafty veterans, Pete and Brian worked hard and made a
commitment to their customers that continues today. |

The Name
Using the back room of Pete's house as an office, the young painters set up shop.
Sensing something unique was brewing, Pete and Brian realized a name was needed to become
more legitimate. Using a sense of humor and a play on words from Ziggy Stardusts' song
"All The Young Dudes," a new company was born. Pete and Brian became the Two
Dudes Painting Company.

| As the seasons moved along the Dudes
multiplied. Tapping into roommates in search of rent, brothers and cousins in search of
summer work, the Dudes started to form their family. With a full staff of painters and
equipment to haul, Pete's VW Bug and Brian's station wagon were no longer cutting it. When
choosing a company vehicle, the Dudes made the most important purchase in their history to
date! They bought a '79 orange VW Micro Bus. The orange bus has
become the Dudes version of the Batmobile and is the trademark by which they are known. |
